Lodge St David Monthly Cash Prize Draw

One of our very popular fundraising initiatives is a monthly cash prize draw.

The cost is £5 per month for one number, and the Cash Prize Pot is 50% of the total monthly contributions,  of which 1st prize = 25%, 2nd = 15%, and 3rd = 10%.

In order to keep overheads to a minimum, the preferred payment method is by Bank Standing Order. All you have to do is fill in the required details, sign the Standing Order Form (available HERE or from any Lodge Office Bearer), and post it to your bank, then notify the Lodge Treasurer, who will record your participation and allocate your lucky number(s).

                                                                    OR

If you have access to online banking, set up your own Standing Order using the bank details on  our Standing Order Form, then notify the Lodge Treasurer, who will record your participation and allocate your lucky number(s).

Either of the above methods will ensure that you never miss a draw.

A monthly audit of payments prior to the draw taking place will also confirm your continued eligibility.

The next Draw will take place at our Regular Meeting on 14th February 2012

Would you give it if you had it?

In general, Freemasonry today is feeling the effect of dwindling attendances and a lack of interest in the Craft, with many Lodges now having to share premises in order to minimise costs and help fully utilise their assets.

Locally, we in Lodge St David are fortunate to still have our own premises, and indeed we recently celebrated the 50 years of occupation of the Masonic Temple in Loudoun Street, with a re-dedication ceremony by P.G.L.A. (View Pictures of this event in the Gallery)

But with this privilege comes the usual responsibilities associated with the maintenance and upkeep   any building. The premises are now showing their age and are desperately in need of internal and external refurbishment, but our regular income won’t cover these extensive costs.

The situation is such that if we cannot carry out the essential repairs and do some remedial maintenance to the building, we may need to consider moving to alternative premises, and given the current lack of viable alternatives within the village, we may need to move even further afield.

We are trying to avoid this if at all possible.

One of our fundraising initiatives is a monthly cash prize draw and we ask you to consider extending your support by joining this. The cost is £5 per month for one number, and the Cash Prize Pot is 50% of the total contributions,  1st = 25%, 2nd = 15%, and 3rd = 10%.

In order to reduce overheads and the need for collectors, the preferred payment method is by Bank Standing Order.

Alternatively, payment can be made to the Lodge Treasurer directly on or before the 1st of each month. To comply with the Lotteries legislation however, you must be fully paid up before the draw is made to participate.

We would also encourage members of the Lodge to consider setting up a Standing Order to automatically pay your Test Fees (£30) which are due annually in September. This is a convenient way to ensure that you are always "clear in the books" and means that the Lodge is getting your ongoing support.

(Standing Order Forms for this purpose are available HERE, or from any Lodge Office Bearer).

A brief history of the Lodge can be found using the Link to the left, and with your help, we can ensure that this history continues for the foreseeable future, within the village of Mauchline.

We would like to thank you in advance for this additional support.
